The second part of our England journey focused on exploring some of the country’s most iconic landmarks and cultural sites. Each destination offered a different glimpse into England’s rich and layered history.

We visited Stonehenge, standing in awe of its mystery and ancient presence. Despite the cold weather, the experience felt surreal and well worth it. Another literary highlight was Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Walking through the town and visiting his birthplace added another meaningful literary connection to our travels.

In London, we explored several classic landmarks, including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the historic Tower of London. Each site felt iconic in its own way, and seeing them in person brought a deeper appreciation for England’s royal and political history. The British Museum was an incredible stop and one we could have easily spent more than entire day exploring. Seeing artifacts from civilizations around the world, all housed under one roof, made this visit both educational and fascinating. It offered valuable context to global history and was a highlight of our time in London. A fun and memorable stop was Abbey Road, where recreating the famous crosswalk photo was a must.

We also visited the Sherlock Holmes Museum, which was both charming and immersive, especially for fans of the famous detective. It added a lighter, playful note to our sightseeing and was a great contrast to the grand historical landmarks. Visiting the Prime Meridian in Greenwich was a unique and memorable experience. Standing on the line that separates the eastern and western hemispheres felt surprisingly exciting and symbolic, marking a moment where geography, science, and history intersect.

Although the weather was cold throughout this portion of the trip, we were pleasantly surprised that it didn’t rain as much, which made exploring much more enjoyable. Despite the chilly temperatures, we thoroughly enjoyed every stop and felt incredibly grateful for the range of experiences packed into this journey.
Together, these two parts of our England trip created a perfect balance—literary homage, historical landmarks, festive moments, and unforgettable memories. England offered us depth, beauty, and inspiration at every turn, making it a trip we will always cherish.
