Sky-High Comfort and Curves: Delta's Premium Select Journey to Thailand

Embarking on the adventure of a lifetime to Thailand, we opted for Delta's Premium Select, seeking a blend of comfort and style at 35,000 feet. The experience proved to be a mixed bag of delights and surprises, from the spacious seats to the culinary letdowns. As we soared through the skies, the stark difference between the outbound and return journeys added a unique twist to our travel tale.

Delta's Premium Select promised an oasis of space compared to economy, with wider seats providing a welcome respite. The flight attendants, with their warm greetings, set the tone for the journey ahead. However, the culinary experience left a bit to be desired, as our taste buds yearned for more.

The outbound flight presented a hurdle with a 2-4-2 seating configuration, offering less-than-ideal comfort as we were sitting in the four seat part of the configuration. Yet, as the wheels touched down on the return, fortune smiled, placing us in a more comfortable two-seater setup. Despite minor hiccups as we were leaving Thailand, with the seat-back entertainment, the journey back home became a lesson in the importance of seat configuration. The monitors had to be reset about three times, but it eventually began working. If possible please ensure that you are able to grab one of those two-seater, especially if traveling in a group of two.

Both layovers, strategically placed in South Korea for 1.5-2 hours, provided a convenient breather. Taxi rides, initially feared to be budget-busters, turned out to be both convenient and surprisingly wallet-friendly. It might be better to book a "bigger" taxi because of your luggage, if you have brought a lot of luggage. Sometimes, the taxis at the airport, will charge you a "fee" for the luggage. It is also important to note that sometimes, the taxi drivers will ask for set fare and not want to turn on the meter. You may either request another taxi or accept the set fare.

Delta's Premium Select delivered an elevated experience, complete with spacious seating and warm service. The culinary letdowns and varying seat configurations added unexpected twists to the journey. As we touched down on Thai soil and bid farewell to its vibrant landscapes, the sky-high adventure, with its highs and lows, became a memorable chapter in our travel chronicles.
