Our trip to Pennsylvania was the perfect blend of fun-filled excitement and peaceful countryside charm. From the roller coasters of Hershey Park to the serene beauty of Lancaster’s Amish Country, this journey was full of unforgettable moments. Here’s a look at our sweet and scenic adventure.

Hershey Park: A Chocolate Lover’s Paradise We kicked off our trip at Hershey Park, the ultimate destination for thrill-seekers and chocolate enthusiasts alike. With rides ranging from heart-pounding roller coasters to family-friendly attractions, there was something for everyone.

The Chocolate World attraction was a highlight, where we learned about the chocolate-making process and indulged in delectable treats. By the end of the day, we were exhausted but happy, with bags of Hershey goodies in hand.
Lancaster: A Step Back in Time After the high-energy fun of Hershey Park, we headed to Lancaster for a more tranquil experience. The Amish countryside is a world away from the hustle and bustle, offering a glimpse into a simpler way of life.

Amish Buggy Rides and Dairy Farms Our first stop was a classic Amish buggy ride, where our guide shared fascinating stories about Amish culture and traditions. The slow pace allowed us to take in the picturesque scenery of rolling fields and tidy farms. We also visited an Amish dairy farm, where we learned about their sustainable practices and sampled some of the freshest dairy products we’ve ever tasted.

Shady Maple: A Feast Like No Other No trip to Lancaster is complete without a visit to Shady Maple Smorgasbord. Known for its legendary buffet, Shady Maple serves up an incredible variety of dishes, from traditional Pennsylvania Dutch fare to modern favorites. The sheer abundance and quality of the food made this dining experience one of the best we’ve ever had.

Homemade Jams and Amish Creamery Delights We couldn’t resist buying some homemade jams and jellies, crafted with love by the Amish community. These jars of fruity goodness will keep the flavors of Lancaster alive long after our trip. Another highlight was our visit to the Amish Down on the Farm Creamery, where we treated ourselves to absolutely divine milkshakes. Made with fresh, creamy dairy, these shakes were the perfect way to cap off a warm day of exploration.

Amish Homes: A Window into a Unique Lifestyle To round out our Lancaster experience, we toured an Amish home and learned about their way of life, which values community, hard work, and faith. The simplicity and practicality of their homes were inspiring, offering a stark contrast to modern conveniences.

Why You Should Go Whether you’re looking for thrills or tranquility, Pennsylvania has it all. Hershey Park delivers excitement and sweet treats, while Lancaster’s Amish Country provides a serene escape and a chance to connect with a different way of life. From buggy rides and dairy farms to epic buffets and homemade delights, this trip left us with full hearts and even fuller stomachs. We can’t wait to return!
